Five Romantic Places in Canada for a Wedding

So, you are planning to get married in the next 12 months but you don't want to do what everyone else does. Getting married at your family church or the local park is just not what you're looking for. You want a location that is heavy on the romance, perhaps something beautiful and elegant enough to be in the movies. Well, you are in luck. Canada has many great locations for a wedding. It is just a matter of how much you want to spend and what kind of environment you are looking for.

To help get you thinking in that direction, we have put together a list of five of the most romantic Canadian wedding destinations. All of them have local facilities that would make arranging your special day rather easy. So let's get to it.

1. Niagara-On-The-Lake

Not to be confused with Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake is the quintessential small-town and one known as the 'Loveliest City in Canada'. It is situated at the junction of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario in the southern portion of the province of Ontario. Niagara-on-the-Lake's quaint streets, intimate restaurants, and boutiques make it a wonderful town for strolling together while holding hands. Interested in seeing Niagara Falls? It is just 30 minutes up river. If you like live theater, there is an annual festival paying tribute to George Bernard Shaw that runs in three downtown theaters, from April through November.

 2. Montreal

The city of Montreal is spectacular no matter when you decide to visit. However, for a wedding, it is even better. There are a number of hotels there that specialize in extravagant and, if you prefer, out-of-the-ordinary weddings that are sure to create lifetime memories. The Hilton Montreal Bonaventure, Hotel Le St. James, and Hotel Omni Mont Royal are just three notable examples. After the ceremony, there are some incredible places throughout the city for spectacular photographs.

 3. Quebec

If you are looking for old-world French charm, it is hard to do better than Quebec. Choose any one of the historic churches in the city for your ceremony or, if you prefer, get married at City Hall. Then spend your days strolling the narrow city streets, shopping at intimate boutiques, or finding that quiet café hidden away from view.

4. Niagara Falls

As kitschy and touristy as it is, Niagara Falls still is one of the favorite honeymoon destinations in all of Canada. There is something remarkably romantic about the Falls and the surrounding area. As for the city's hotels and motels, they have weddings and honeymoons down to a science. A word to the wise though: you can save a lot of money by not going during the peak tourist season. Anything from September through April will get you the best rates.

5. Love, Saskatchewan

Believe it or not, there is a Canadian town named Love. And every year, the post office is flooded with envelopes from all over the world sent by the lovesick in anticipation of the teddy bear and heart cancellation stamp. If you are planning February nuptials, why not? There is no better place to begin your life together than in Love. In fact, you will be able to tell your friends and family for generations that you were in Love once, when you first got married. That will give them something to think about.

Now that you know some of the most romantic Canadian wedding destinations, it is time to start planning. Toronto's Engaged Diamond Studio can help, with custom-made engagement and wedding rings.

So many interesting place just in Canada!! Well, hope everyone have a wonderful week and out of curiousity what is you destination plan for your wedding?

Toronto Fashion Week: Minnie Mouse Presentation

(Spring/Summer 2015 Collection)

Walt Disney’s Minnie Mouse is a funny mouse cartoon character; who has stolen the hearts of many children since 1928 from the show Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse’s dressing style was inspired by “flapper” girl from the 1920 with short skirts and bob haircuts. Minnie Mouse’s main outfit over the years had some few tiny changes and today she is featured with a short polka-dotted dress with a matching bow and white gloves. This year, at David Pecaut Square at World MasterCard Fashion Week has teamed up with Disney and Fashion Weekly Magazine was given the honour of attending Minnie Mouse Presentation at the studio on Tuesday, October 21 to view all six of the featured creations. The presentation featured six finalists of the Mercedes-Benz Start Up 2014 to showcase their final garments as part of a new project addition to this year’s Start Up program. This task was to create a new type of garment inspired by Minnie Mouse. The designers who took part in this friendly competition were Valerie Tolila of Vaiken, Eliza Faulkner, Chloe and Parris Gordon of Beaufille, Diego Fuchs and Helder Aguiar of BLAK. I, Laura Siegel, and Sid Neigum. Each six of the designs had their own unique touches, but the Alberta-born, New York-trained designer, stole the show and took the title home with his modular origami style dress.

Toronto Fashion Week: BUSTLE Spring/Summer Collection

The Bustle’s spring/summer collection for 2015 definitely brings up hope for the upcoming New Year. Bustle has brought back some tropical blue tone colors and even some unique patterns for the spring/summer 2015.

Fashion Weekly Magazine was given the honour of attending Bustle spring/summer fashion show as a designer’s guest on Tuesday, October 21. Bustle’s fashion runway show started off with a backdrop of a Mediterranean inspired screen with some café-style tables, blue umbrellas’ and etc. Bustle’s collection easily captured the audiences’ attention since the models donned a casual look sunglasses, headphone and the most amazing part was that some of the models were carrying cameras. The irony was that rather than the media taking photos of the models the models were engaging with the media by taking photos of them. Colors such as teal and basic shades of blues from bright to navy had dominated during the shows and in-between the Bustle collection features some shades of peaches and corals. The patterns featured on the runway mainly consist of bold stripe prints with bold tile inspired prints. Overall, the Bustle’s collection for 2015 featured series colorful, light-weight pieces for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.

Toronto Fashion Week: NARCES' Spring/Summer Collection

@_NARCES: Toronto based designer Nikki Wirthensohn’s  Narces’ spring/summer collection for 2015 has been inspired by "extravagantly decorated birdcages of the Victorian age; a time when the birdcages had become their most magnificent and detailed. Birdcages as décor had been a trendy item through the 17th and 18th centuries. It wasn't until the opulence of the Victorian era that the trend reached its peak" (Narces WMCFW, 2014)

Fashion Weekly Magazine was given the honour of attending Narces’ spring/summer fashion show on Tuesday, October 21. Narces has outdone themselves again this year with classy and elegant pieces that would make any woman to feel like a character in the fairy-tale adventures. This year, Narces collection included many unique combinations, such as structured, embellished and meshes detailed dresses which featured floral textures, decorative lace and etcOn the whole, the collection consists of soft airy pastels and off-white shades filled the collection with grace and elegance. Each of the runway pieces was just remarkable elegant and beautiful.

On Tuesday November 18, 2014 Fashion Weekly Magazine was honoured to attend the Toronto launch of the Nine West Garden Party to launch their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. As always, Amanda Losier the creative and PR Specialist has outdone herself; the display of all the shoes and the mood board posted in the background created the whole mood for the event.

The collection features varies of trends and themes for the Spring/Summer season; for instances themes such as monochrome, menswear, graphic floral prints, detailed/sparkly embellishments, reptile prints and even metallic hardware details jewels. Also, trends like laser cut-outs, perforations, multiple straps and buckle from the 90s will be make a huge come back next season. The program features eight different colours as well as three different materials to choose from; also choices of faux snake skin and even pastel colours are available. As I was going through the comments, I was definitely impressed by all the different opinions. MyLyfeMyStory Blog is always open for opinions and different perspectives; therefore, I am extremely pleased with my readers for being very open and comfortable to state their opinion. Thank you so much for that and definitely a great way of starting my New Year post with a blast.

So, here are some of my comments and my response to them:

Name of the Reader: "Their comment"

Melody Jacobs: "I think one person can have all this attributes, ..."

Anonymous: "I think I a bit of everything.... A carrot with my husband, an egg with society and coffee bean with my staff"
Comment: Interesting answer... love it!

Laila N, " What are you?"
Comment: Most of comments revolved around questioning my opinion on this particular topic... In my personal opinion, as human beings we are a piece of everything. We are a carrot when we are with our family and friends; they view us a strong individual, however their also know how sensitive we are in some situations. We are an egg when are round our enemies, where they see us as a fragile object; however they themselves do not understand the power w hold within ourselves. So everytime they push us down, they are literally making us strong during the process. Similarly, we are a coffee bean where we are placed in to unique positions at work by our boss, clients, or even our coworkers. During this times, each of us must be capable of taking control of the situation so we can get the chance that will allow us to help change their opinion by help them understand our ideas and perspectives.

Well, this is all for today and the weather has been extremely cold in Toronto so I have been avoiding to do an outfit post; however I will definitely have one before this month comes to an end.

Are you a Carrot, an Egg or a Coffee Bean?

I wish you all the best for this brand New Year and this is officially my fifth year of blogging!!

Well, it's a brand "New Year" and last night I had an opportunity to read a few blog posts from some of my blogs friends and readers regarding their 2014 yearly recap. As always each any every posts were very moving and surprising; each writer had their own sets of success as well as sorrow in the year 2014. And of you have taken the lesson from 2014 to reinvent yourself into a better individual. A huge applause for that acknowledgement and after reading the post, I started thing about this post I read on facebook a few years back which told the story of figure who we are as an individual.

As individuals, we tend to face challenges everyday with our communication with our feelings, habits, surroundings as well as people around us. In this world, we need to make our own choices on how we get through the tough problems and situations caused in our lives. We can't always wait for an angel to solve our problems but rather we must be our own angels. I understand, that it is easy to feel angry, upset, mad, sad and even disappointed but these are just part of life.

Remember, it is always easy to blame others and even to lock yourself away when failure occurs when suffering knocks at your door.

A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She then pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her granddaughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

The granddaughter then asked, "What does it mean, Grandmother?"

Her grandmother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity -- boiling water -- but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her granddaughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I?

Am I the CARROT that seems strong, but with pain and adversity? Do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the EGG that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the COFFEE BEAN? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor of your life. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level?

How do you handle adversity? Are you changed by your surroundings or do you bring life, flavor, to them?

DISCLAIMER: I take no credit for this post, just thought it was a great post to share and the photos used in this post does not belong to me unless stated. I just thought it would be a great way to start a discussion for the New Year :)
